Pix broke a new record in the number of daily transactions last Wednesday (30): 99.4 million transactions were carried out by users, according to Central Bank data. The record date coincided with the last day for payment of the first installment of the 13th salary.
The previous record had been 93.6 million transactions made in just 24 hours, on October 7th.
Pix is an instant payment system, developed by the Central Bank and implemented in 2020.
In October, the number of “individual” users registered to use the service was more than 127.8 million. In the same month, Pix had more than 2.5 billion transactions, moving around R$ 1 trillion.
The system, which completed two years of operation in November, also has the Pix Saque and Pix Troco modalities, launched at the end of 2021 and which allow users to make withdrawals at commercial establishments, not just at ATMs.
The offer of both modalities is optional and depends on the establishments.
