In a live broadcast from João Pessoa (PB) this Thursday (5), Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said that he agreed with his party to hire a company to audit the elections. According to the president, the organization to be hired will ask the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) for information.
“I was with the president of the PL a few days ago and we will hire a company to audit the elections. The company will ask the TSE for some information. What can happen? This company that audits all over the world, a leading company, can come to the conclusion that, given the documentation at hand, given what has already been done, it can say that it was not auditable. Look how far we’re going to get,” Bolsonaro said.
Still in the broadcast, Bolsonaro said that the law allows for auditing by parties.
Petrobras has a profit of R$ 44.6 billion in the first quarter of 2022; Bolsonaro calls number “rape”
Petrobras recorded a net profit of BRL 44.5 billion in the first three months of 2022. The result represents a jump in profitability of more than 3,000% compared to the same quarter of 2021, when the state-owned company had a gain of BRL 1 .3 billion, impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The financial statement was released by the company on Thursday (5).

SP City Hall suspends payment for singer Daniela Mercury’s concert
In a note sent to the press earlier this Thursday (5th) evening, the City of São Paulo announced that it had provisionally suspended payment for the show performed by singer Daniela Mercury last Sunday (1st), in celebration of Labor Day.
The event was attended by former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and other political leaders, in addition to several demonstrations in favor of PT’s pre-candidacy for the Planalto Palace. The purpose of the suspension is to verify that the hiring is in accordance with the current rules, “in which the political-party manifestation is prohibited”.
US intelligence helped Ukraine sink Russian warship in Black Sea
When Ukraine successfully attacked Russia’s warship last month with cruise missiles, it enlisted some help from the United States.
Ukrainian forces, upon sighting a Russian warship in the Black Sea, called on their American contacts to confirm that it was indeed the Moskva, sources told CNN . The US then replied yes and provided information about its location.
It is unclear whether the US knew that Ukraine would attack the ship, and was not involved in that decision, the sources said.
Heleno admits conversation with the CIA, but denies that he dealt with elections
The minister of the Institutional Security Office of the Presidency of the Republic (GSI), Augusto Heleno, during a live with Jair Bolsonaro this Thursday (5) said that the news that a director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA, of the United States told Brazilian officials last year that the president should stop casting doubt on the country’s electoral system before the October elections. The report is from the Reuters agency.
Heleno confirmed that conversations took place with the American intelligence sector, however, that the subject was not the next elections, in which Bolsonaro will run for re-election.
