Palácio do Planalto is preparing to accelerate the payment of amendments and is evaluating bringing forward the payment of benefits as a way of boosting the aid package for Amazonas. The State is facing a severe drought. The drought is already damaging access to water and food for around 100,000 people.
The idea is for the Executive to authorize amendments that can be converted into actions to help the population of Amazonas. The government is already working on a schedule, in a movement supported by the state’s group of parliamentarians.
The governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, told CNN that the state also expects the anticipation of the payment of benefits to be announced, such as Bolsa Família and defense insurance, aimed at fishermen.
According to him, an application was also submitted for debt forgiveness from Pronaf (Family Farming Strengthening Program).
The federal government announced on Tuesday night, the 26th, the creation of a task force to assist Amazonas, with the contracting of dredging in rivers, the purchase of basic food baskets and water and support to combat fires.
