The two pilots of the British Air Force fighter are alive and undergoing a medical examination, after successfully using the jet system from the jet, which shortly after crashed in a rural area in southwest England.
The pilots have not suffered life-threatening injuries, said a spokeswoman for the Cornwall Air Transport Service, who responded after information about a plane crash at 11.48 Greek time.
The British Ministry of Defense announced today, for its part, that an investigation will be launched into the incident, in which a Hawk fighter of the Royal Air Force, which was parked close to the crash site in Helston, was involved.
“The two pilots are being monitored by doctors after they activated the ejection system from the Hawk aircraft,” the ministry said in a statement.
British media reported that the crew managed to leave the aircraft before it crashed.
