A small plane crashed and left three people dead in a difficult-to-access area in Barreiras, in the interior of Bahia, this Saturday morning (2).
According to the Military Fire Department, 12 military firefighters are currently working at the scene to rescue the bodies.
Three people were on the plane at the time of the crash. The identities of the victims of the small aircraft have not yet been released by authorities at the scene.
The small aircraft crashed in a dense vegetation area of the Associação Barreirense de Aerodesportiva (ABA) aerodrome. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
In a statement, the Center for Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention (Cenipa) stated that investigators from the Second Regional Service for Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention (Seripa II) were called to take initial action on the incident.
In this phase, data is collected and confirmed, the elements of the investigation are preserved, the initial verification of damage caused to the aircraft, or by the aircraft, and other information necessary for the investigation is collected.
“The conclusion of the investigation will take as short a time as possible, always depending on the complexity of the occurrence and, also, the need to discover possible contributing factors”, informed the agency.
