Plane crash in Vinhedo: identification of bodies and analysis of black boxes are the next steps

The São Paulo Fire Department finished rescuing the 62 victims of the Voepass plane crash on Saturday night (10) on a plot of land in Vinhedo, in the interior of São Paulo.

Work will continue this Sunday (11) at the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in the capital to identify the victims. Experts from the Federal Police (PF) will help identify the passengers.

Due to the impact of the fall and the fire, experts are expected to take days to identify some victims.

The black boxes were collected and are now in the hands of investigators at the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (Cenipa).

The materials arrived in Brasília on Saturday (10) and were forwarded by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). The boxes from flight 2283 were found among the wreckage in the early evening of the day of the accident – ​​Friday (9).

The material will be crucial in unraveling the reasons why the ATR 72-500 plummeted 4,000 meters in one minute.
