A small plane crashed about a kilometer from the runway in the city of Manoel Urbano, in the interior of Acre, on Monday morning (18). According to information from the Fire Department, seven people were on the aircraft. One of the passengers died and the other six occupants were injured.

According to the Military Police Operations Center (Copom), three women and three men were on board the Cessna Skylane model. The plane was leaving Manoel Urbano bound for Santa Rosa do Purus.

The government of Acre reported that the injured are being taken to the Manoel Urbano hospital and must undergo evaluation and possible removal, if necessary, by the Integrated Air Operations Center (Ciopaer).

According to preliminary information, the injured are not in serious condition. “The majority of injuries are burns, but the situation can get worse depending on the percentage of burns on the body,” said Lieutenant Rurio, from the Acre Fire Department.

The lieutenant also reported that there is a reservoir close to the accident site. “A firefighter, who is the Municipal Civil Defense Coordinator and a resident of the municipality, arrived in time to extinguish the fire and help remove the victims from the scene,” he said.
