Plane crashed into empty lot in Vinhedo; all victims were inside the aircraft

Colonel Cassio Araújo de Freitas, general commander of the Military Police of São Paulo, stated this Friday (9) that the crash of a plane in Vinhedo, in the interior of São Paulo, happened on empty land. The statement was given during a press conference next to the accident site.

The São Paulo Fire Department informed the CNN that the accident occurred at the Recanto Florido Condominium, located at Rua Edueta, 2500. Around 7 teams from the corporation worked at the crash site. The Civil Defense of São Paulo confirmed that some houses in the region were hit after the aircraft exploded.

No one was injured on the crash site. Authorities confirmed that there were no survivors among the 61 people on the flight. The information was released by the City of Valinhos (SP).

“Apparently, [o avião] It fell on an empty lot. Fortunately, we have no victims on the ground, nor people who were seriously injured. We had no victims on the ground,” the colonel highlighted.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Emerson Massera, around 50 firefighters are working to cool the area. “The flames have already been extinguished, the fire is under control, but the area is still being cooled and will soon be effectively released for expert analysis,” he explained.

“We have the impression that the work will be very complex,” Massera added.
