A Latam aircraft, which was coming from Foz do Iguaçu, had to turn around upon arriving in São Paulo, this Saturday (03), due to a collision between another plane and a bird upon landing, at 12:38 pm.
According to the airline, this flight also landed at its final destination “in complete safety, within the scheduled time and all passengers disembarked normally”.
Shortly after the incident, the airport runway was closed for around 10 minutes due to safety inspection standards.
The plane that needed to go over had to delay its landing for a few minutes.
The aircraft that struck the bird did not suffer any damage and returned to operation shortly after being inspected by a maintenance team.
Furthermore, the company reiterates that it “adopts all security measures to ensure a safe trip”.
In a note sent to CNN Congonhas Airport reported that “the event did not impact movement at the airport, where operations continued normally, without cancellations”
