Plane with Brazilians and family members who left Ukraine lands in Brasilia

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) plane that traveled to Poland to rescue Brazilians and family members who left Ukraine due to the war landed in Brasília early this Thursday afternoon (10). The aircraft left Warsaw, in the European country, on Wednesday (9).

The KC-390 Millennium arrived in Brazil this Thursday morning, with a technical stop in Recife. The reception event is attended by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

In total, 42 Brazilians, 20 Ukrainians, five Argentines, one Colombian, eight dogs and two cats left Poland with the aircraft. There are 14 children among the citizens.

According to a policy analyst at CNNBasília Rodrigues, the government held meetings with airlines that will transport people to their final destinations from Brasília.

On the trip to Poland, 11.6 tons of medicines were sent for emergency care, food and basic necessities for humanitarian aid.

According to the FAB, among the supplies and equipment available, there are 50 water purifiers, of national technology and manufacture, with the capacity to purify around 300,000 liters of water per day; 50 voltaic kits with solar panel to supply energy equipment autonomously; ten tons of highly nutritious dehydrated foods; and five medical emergency medicine kits.

The KC-390 took off on Monday (7), from Brasília airport, and made technical stops in Recife, Cape Verde (Africa) and Lisbon (Portugal).
