Plane with singer Zé Vaqueiro crashes after takeoff and returns to Fortaleza

The private plane on which the forró singer Zé Vaqueiro was traveling suffered a breakdown during the flight, shortly after takeoff, and had to return to the place of origin this Sunday afternoon (25).

The information was confirmed in a statement published on the artist’s social networks, which also posted a video stating that he was fine and thanking his fans for their support.

The aircraft, which departed from Fortaleza, was heading to Serra Talhada (PE), near the city of Floresta, where the singer would perform later that night.

“Soon after takeoff, the plane suffered a systemic breakdown, which affected the stability of the aircraft,” says the note. “Fortunately, the pilot was able to bring the aircraft safely back to the runway at the airport in Fortaleza and no one was injured.”

In note to CNN the Fortaleza airport from which the flight departed declared that “the aircraft took off and returned to the airport, but without declaring an emergency”.

Zé Vaqueiro had two shows scheduled for tonight that ended up being postponed – in Floresta, in Pernambuco, and in São Luís do Quitunde, Alagoas. Both will be rescheduled and new dates announced soon.

“Immensely shaken by what happened, Zé Vaqueiro apologizes to the fans for the cancellation of the two shows of the night and counts on everyone’s understanding”, continues the statement.

In the video published in his Stories, Zé Vaqueiro said that “we managed to return, the pilots left us very calm (…) and we landed, thank God everything was fine”.

“But the plane rocked, in that rocking, I got a little nervous, people were also on the plane, there was me and three other people, but thank God everything went well.”

The singer said he received questions and messages from fans and thanked everyone. “May God bless each one of you. (…) I was very nervous, really, it crosses our minds a lot, but that’s it. God bless you.”
