Plane with three Brazilians disappears in Argentina

A plane with three Brazilian crew members, which was traveling from El Calafate airport to Trelew, in Argentina, disappeared this Wednesday (6), according to Empresa Argentina de Navegação Aérea SE, which belongs to the country’s National Ministry of Transport.

According to information available in consultation with the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the small plane, without authorization for air taxi, belongs to Antonio Carlos de Castro Ramos, businessman from Florianópolis, owner of ACCR Construções.

ACCR Construções informed the CNN that Antônio’s son and his brother went to Argentina this Thursday. They were informed by authorities of the country that the suspicion is that the plane had fallen into the sea. In addition to Antônio, two of his friends, Mário Pinho and Gian Carlo Nercolini, were on the aircraft.

THE CNN contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is awaiting the position of the Itamaraty.

The Search and Rescue Service (SAR) was activated after losing contact with Van’s RV-10 aircraft, Brazilian plate PP-ZRT. The last contact of the aircraft was registered at the Comodoro Rivadavia Area Control Center (ACC).

According to Empresa Argentina de Navegação Aérea SE, after several attempts to communicate, the ACC Comodoro Rivadavia communicated the rescue service, activating the aircraft search protocol.

The Search and Rescue Service contacted the Argentine Missile Control Center (ARMCC) who reported the activation of the aircraft’s ELT flashlight.

In unfavorable weather conditions, forces were mobilized by the Argentine Naval Prefecture, including the maritime detachment of the coast guard. The Argentine Air Force and Civil Defense were also activated.

Air, land and sea operations continue to search for the aircraft as long as weather conditions allow, according to Empresa Argentina de Navegação Aérea SE.
