Neurosurgeon Jacinto Lay had his aircraft, valued at R$ 2 million, stolen from inside an air club in Piauí on Saturday (14).

THE CNN , the doctor said he received a call at 5 am from a pilot friend, who told him about the robbery. According to him, a group of six people invaded the Ultralight Club in Piauí and held the man who was in the club hostage.

Four of them took off in the aircraft, a Cessna 206 PT-DQF single-engine plane, while the others stayed at the club to prevent the police from being called.

Lay said that the police suspect that the plane was stolen to be used for drug trafficking.

“[O avião] it has some characteristics that, according to the authorities who spoke to me, would be useful for trafficking, because it is a short, small plane, with unpaved runways and carries a lot of cargo”, he said.

The doctor said he had already contacted all the competent bodies. The Civil Police, the Federal Police and the Special Action Group for the Repression of Organized Crime (Gaeco) have already inspected the site. The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) was also informed.
