Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition was tested on modern Microsoft and Sony consoles, as well as on PCs, and the results were compared.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series vs. Top PC in Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition. How much better is the picture on the computer?

Recall that we are talking about a special version of Metro Exodus, which received new effects with ray tracing and works only on platforms that support this technology.

In this case, we used a PC with a GeForce RTX 3080 at an active 4K resolution.

As you can see, there is a difference in the quality of the picture, and the point is not at all in tracing. Even without looking closely, you can easily notice that the texture resolution on the Xbox Series S is much lower. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, it is almost identical, but still with a slight margin towards the second. The PC is unattainable in this matter, and the difference with the younger version of the Xbox is already huge. At the same time, DLSS technology was activated for the PC, which many scold for a fuzzy picture and all sorts of artifacts, but, as you can see, everything is fine. At the same time, all three consoles give out a stable 60 fps, which is explained by different resolutions.

Of course, as almost always, the top-end PC is ahead of the consoles in terms of picture quality, but it should be understood that for the $ 500 that is asked for the Xbox Seires X and PlayStation 5, you cannot build a PC that will provide a picture at the RTX 3080 level, since one such the video card costs more than any console (based on the recommended prices). The Xbox Series S, at $ 300, has no PC alternatives at all.
