Some time ago, Sony launched a closed beta testing of a new feature – the manufacturer gave a small group of users the opportunity to try 1440p resolution. Probably, the testing process was successful, since today, September 7, the Japanese giant released a major update for its PlayStation 5 game console, in which the ability to display images in 1440p resolution is now available to absolutely everyone. This opens the way for gamers to 2K monitors, which were previously avoided by everyone precisely because of the unsupported resolution.
True, it is worth immediately clarifying one strange point – in the 1440p resolution mode, the user does not have support for VRR (variable frame rate). This feature is only available in 1080p and 4K. Surprisingly, the same feature was not available at 2K resolution, but perhaps VRR support will be added later. And now the gamer has the ability to create folders for their video games from the library. There are fifteen folders in total, each of which can contain one hundred video games. This will make it easier for gamers to sort their video games, especially if the library is huge.
