PlayStation 5-ready SSDs began to appear on the market. So far, these are all old models.

So, as expected, manufacturers began to advertise some of their SSDs as suitable for the PlayStation 5. One such drive is the Gigabyte Aorus Gen4 7000s M.2 2280 2TB.

PlayStation 5-ready SSDs began to appear on the market. So far, these are all old models.

The model has been on the market for some time, but the manufacturer began to focus on the fact that such an SSD is ready for the PlayStation 5. From the point of view of Sony’s requirements, everything converges here: PCIe 4.0 interface, read speed over 5500 MB / s and even a radiator cooling is available.

Earlier, Seagate and Western Digital advertised their SSDs in the same way. It can be expected that a lot of “PlayStation 5 compatible” drives will appear on the market in the near future, and it will not necessarily be new models.

Coming back to the SSD from Gigabyte, that same 2TB version with a read speed of 7000MB / s now costs $ 400.

As we wrote earlier today, a Sony compliant optional SSD does not degrade PS5 performance or increase loading times in games.
