Plextor has announced the M10P series of solid state drives. The lineup includes the M10PG M.2 model and the M10PY model as an expansion card for the PCIe slot. They are equipped with PCIe Gen4 interface.
The read speed is claimed to reach 7000 MB / s, the write speed is 5000 MB / s. To improve performance, Plextor’s patented PlexNitro II technology uses caching in the SLC. The company estimates the PlexNitro II delivers up to 50% better read / write performance over the previous generation of SSDs.
Working at high speeds is associated with increased heat generation. The M10PG model is made of anodized aluminum to dissipate heat and ensure reliable operation without degrading performance. The heat sink of the M10PY model is made by injection molding technology and covered with a graphene coating. Another highlight of the M10PY is RGB backlighting compatible with backlight management software including Asus Aura Sync, AsRock Polychrome Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, and MSI Mystic Light Sync.
The M10P series SSD uses Kioxia flash memory. The drives will be available in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB sizes. The manufacturer does not quote their resource and prices, confining himself to a promise to start sales this month. New Plextor drives come with a five-year warranty.
