Last Monday (9), the Military Police arrested two criminals suspected of attacking the base of the Agricultural Defense Institute of the State of Mato Grosso (Indea), in Colniza, in the southern region of the state.
The attack occurred last Friday (6), when Indea’s headquarters was attacked by 11 criminals who, previously, stole a vehicle with a load of illegal wood. According to the corporation, the suspects were heavily armed and fired at the teams guarding the base.
During the action, a PM sergeant was hit by numerous shots. The agent was rescued and subsequently taken to the Intensive Treatment Unit (ICU) of the Cuiabá Municipal Hospital.
Teams from the Special Operations Battalion (Bope), Mobile Tactical Ostensive Rounds (Rotam), Tactical Force and Integrated Air Operations Center (Ciopaer) responded to the incident with the support of the Rondônia Military Police.
On Saturday morning (7), all suspects involved in the confrontation were identified by security forces and the truck they stole was located on a rural road.
During the searches, two criminals who participated in the attack were located on a rural property. Furthermore, the wife of one of the suspects was also detained by the Civil Judiciary Police.
Still according to the PM, agents are still looking for the other members of the gang.
THE CNN asked the Cuiabá Health Department for information about the sergeant’s health status, however, he did not receive a response until the last update of this report.
