Images from the body camera of a São Paulo military police officer went viral on social media after recording the officer intentionally accelerating the vehicle he was driving and then colliding with the corporation vehicle.
The case happened in the early hours of July 13th this year, in Interlagos, south of São Paulo, but only now have the images been released.
In the recording, the police officer, while driving the vehicle, asks his colleague sitting next to him: ‘bet a racha?’, with no response, he then begins to speed up with the São Paulo Military Police car. Soon after, it collides with two other vehicles.
In total, four agents were inside the vehicle. According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), all were accused of dangerous driving.
In addition to the accusation, the PMs were removed from operational service and face administrative proceedings.
The accident
After suggesting a ‘racha’ to his colleague sitting next to him, the officer driving the vehicle, without responding, decided to speed up the vehicle. During the journey at high speed, amid laughter with the police, the PM then loses control of the corporation car and collides with another parked car and a truck.
Shortly after the collision, the PM came out and checked the damage caused to the vehicle, which had its border completely damaged due to the impact of the crash. The other two vehicles were also damaged.

Later, the agent calls someone with his phone number and asks his colleague in uniform: “What did I do?’=”.
When answered, the PM tells the other person on the line: “sub, I crashed the car. I crashed the car. I had an accident. We wrecked the undercover car. I swear to God, sub. Come here, support us”, says the agent during the call. The body cam recording ends with images of the street and the damaged vehicle.
When questioned, the SSP informed that the conduct of the police officers was investigated through an investigation by the Military Police and that the four officers involved were accused of dangerous driving.
As a result of what happened, they were removed from operational service and are also facing administrative processes that could lead to their respective dismissals, according to the agency.
“In the civil sphere, they respond to a compensation process due to losses caused to third parties and public property”, concluded the SSP in a note.
