PM Dog of SP makes history by jumping from parachutes in training

The Coyote dog, from Military Police of São Paulo made history when becoming the first to jump parachutes during tactical intervention training. The activity took place in April, in the city of Boituva, in the interior of São Paulo.

The animal, one 3-year-old pastor belongs to the corporation’s kennel, located in the north of the capital. COYOTE operates in occurrences of greater complexity next to the PM Special Tactical Actions Group (Gate).

The dog was selected for the jump after participating in a series of similar occurrences and training. Despite all the equipment, the animal kept quiet throughout the activity.

“When the Coyote arrived here in the channel was very aggressive, from a puppy. However, he was trained with the best military police trawlers, who belong to the 5th Shock Policing Battalion, so that he knew when and where to use all that aggressiveness,” the PM explained.

After this training, the dog is prepared to assist in cases where the Best interference option in some occurrence, be the use of aircraft. In addition, Cabo Diego Albuquerque, the dog’s tutor, said this type of training is extreme importance .

“Let’s assume that there is a suspicious individual inside a house in a city where there is no airport or landing field. One team goes from a car by land and the other can jump from parachutes and reach the place quickly,” the cable exemplified.

Currently in Brazil, the only authority that has parachutist dogs is the Army . Thus, when Coyote managed to jump without any behavioral change, he became a symbol of courage and professionalism.

Equipment

According to police, although the equipment used by the animal seems heavy and uncomfortable, everything was carefully planned for the dog, so as not to compromise its displacement, breathing or food. In addition, vehicles are adapted to transport dogs.


Dog Treatment

The Military Police Kennel has a veterinarian team that takes care of animal health. The dogs are constantly heavy, examined and follow their own diets.

Police dogs cease their activities from eight years, or if they have health problems.
