A military police officer identified as Thiago Cesar de Lima, aged 36, was arrested after killing his wife during an argument in a car. The case happened in the early hours of Sunday (3), in the west zone of São Paulo.
The victim, Erika Ferreira, 33 years old, was taken to the hospital by the gunman himself, but she did not survive her injuries.
He told the police that he was with his wife in a car when they started arguing and then fired shots.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat confirmed that the police officer had a relationship with the victim.
The case was registered as feminicide at the 4th Women’s Defense Police Station and the soldier was sent to the Romão Gomes Military Prison (PMRG).
The Military Police internal affairs department was called and the .40 caliber pistol used in the crime was seized.
