Two men, aged 21 and 26, died after trying to rob a victim using a toy gun.
The case occurred on Friday night (7), in Vila Minerva, east of the capital of São Paulo.
According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), agents were on patrol when they spotted the duo on a motorcycle without a license plate. The two suspects pointed a gun at a 43-year-old victim, who was also on a motorcycle.
The SP Military Police intervened with firearms, which led to the death of the suspects.
The deaths were confirmed at the scene by the Fire Department. It was also found that the weapon used by the duo could not cause harm to anyone.
The toy gun and the police officer’s gun were seized by forensic experts. The PM has already opened a Military Police Inquiry (IPM) to investigate the case.
The incident was registered with the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) and investigations are ongoing.
