The Military Police implemented an extensive security operation for the show of singer Lady Gaga at Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, last Saturday (3). The action resulted in the seizure of 251 sharp objects at the various magazine points installed near the event.
About 3,300 military police were mobilized for megaoperation. During the event, two people were arrested and two minors seized for theft and receiving crimes.
The security strategy had 18 block points and 18 magazine points, equipped with facial recognition systems to reinforce access control and crime prevention.
All the police staff involved in the operation was integrated into the Integrated Center for Mobile Control and Control (CICCM), positioned in Lido Square. In this center, teams monitored in real time the images captured by fixed cameras and drones, covering the entire area of the show to ensure a quick response to any occurrence.
Bomb
The same night, a man was arrested and a teenager seized for planning a bomb attack during the show of singer Lady Gaga in Rio de Janeiro.
The investigations revealed that the extremist group, of which both were part, recruited participants, including minors, to orchestrate coordinated attacks with makeshift explosives and Molotov cocktails. The objective, as found, was to obtain recognition on social networks through this “collective challenge”.
During the operation, the man appointed as leader of the criminal organization was arrested in the act in Rio Grande do Sul for illegal possession of firearms. In Rio de Janeiro, the teenager was apprehended for involvement in the scheme and storing child pornography.
