A military police officer packed in the Bangu Battalion (14th BPM) was saved by a body camera during a criminals attack on Thursday morning (3) in the Batan community in Realengo, in the West Zone of Rio.
According to the Military Police, agents were patrolling in the region known as “Beco da Potato” when the PM car was attacked to shots. One of the shots crossed the windshield of the vehicle and hit the body camera installed at the uniform of the policeman who was sitting on the passenger seat.
The agent was injured by splinters in the eye region, was sent to Albert Schweitzer Municipal Hospital in Realengo, received medical attention and, according to the PM, is well.
The occurrence was recorded in the 34th DP (Bangu) and the Military Police reinforced policing in the area of occurrence.
