The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) informed that the military police officers involved in approaching the young man who was driving a Porsche involved in a traffic accident last month will be held responsible for procedural failures during their action in this case.
According to the SSP, the failure was discovered after analyzing the images from the body cameras that were attached to the uniforms of the agents who responded to the incident.
The recordings showed that the driver of the Porsche was not subjected to a blood alcohol test to detect possible alcohol intake before driving.
The images were handed over to the Civil Police, which is investigating the case.
The SSP also informed that a 3D reconstruction will be carried out in the coming days to assist investigators in the case, which is under judicial secrecy.
Remember the case
At around 2:30 am on March 31, the Porsche driven by businessman Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho, 24 years old, hit the back of the Renault Sandero which was driven by app driver Ornaldo da Silva Viana, 52 years old.
Viana was rescued and taken by the Fire Department to the Tatuapé municipal hospital, but he could not resist his injuries and died. The driver of the Porsche left the scene of the accident in the company of his mother, who told the police that she was taking her son to a hospital because of an alleged injury he had in the mouth area.
However, police officers later went to the hospital recommended by his mother, but found no record of him entering the unit. Fernando only presented himself to the police on the afternoon of the 1st.
The accident occurred on Avenida Salim Farah Maluf, in the east zone, where the speed limit is 50 km/h. Images captured by surveillance cameras show the imported car traveling at high speed until hitting the Sandero. Click here to watch the video.
