PMs who provided security for militia members are targets of operations in RJ

The Public Ministry carries out an operation against military police officers appointed as security guards for a militia member, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday morning (15).

The targets of “Operation Bradock” are two active PMs and a former police officer, whose names were not disclosed.

According to investigations, they provided security for Gabriel Maggio, known as Gabriel GD or Bradock, who died in January 2022, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes.

Investigations indicate that the militiaman commanded a criminal organization that operated illicit games of chance, linked to bicheiros and that supplied weapons and ammunition for both gambling and drug trafficking.

Gabriel was also linked to Comando Vermelho and controlled gambling with slot machines in several communities dominated by the faction. He acted as an intermediary between drug dealers and criminals.

Furthermore, the MP denounced the militiaman’s “right-hand man”, Mthercelino GutherdtheSuntherino. He is accused of the crimes ofthenizthewthethe criminalsthe hethevthemoney, but was not the target of today’s operation.

The agents carry out the three search and seizure warrants in the regions of Coelho Neto, Nilópolis and Itaboraí. The orders were issued by the 1st Vtherthe Crimethel SpecitheLizthedthe in Orgthenizthewtheo Criminalsthe dthe Wthepitthel.

In 2022, days after the militiaman’s death, the Court ordered the seizure of the assets seized at Gabriel’s addresses. At the time, luxury cars and R$44,000 in cash were seized.

In this Tuesday’s action (15), the police seized a cell phone, documents, firearms, a 9mm caliber magazine and a knife.
