Popcorn’s fancy Pocket PC is finally arriving at developers. The device was presented back in 2019, but only now the company began to ship a certain number of PCs to developers. As the creators say, everything is almost ready, and they just have to check the HDMI port and replace the GPS module. The website now states that deliveries are to begin in the current quarter.

Pocket PC is a rather unusual device. It is a 59-key QWERTY keyboard pocket PC based on Arm SoC and running Linux (Debian 10).

The heart is a single-chip system with four Cortex-A53 processor cores, clocked at 1.2 GHz. There is also 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB of eMMC flash, a removable 3200mAh battery, Wi-Fi 4 modules, a slot for microSD and Bluetooth 4.0, and four USB-C ports. As for the screen, it is a 4.95-inch Full HD panel.

The dimensions of the PC are not indicated on the site, but they can be roughly understood based on the size of the screen.

At the moment, you can pre-order for PC. The price is $ 300. There’s also a version with a $ 400 LoRa adapter. LoRa is a wireless communication standard that is actively spreading in the Internet of Things segment.
