Podcast Call the Coach! The anti-stress power of the breath

A vital, involuntary act, perhaps too much: to breathe. We breathe just enough to stay alive. Anxiety, hectic life and stress force us to a state of perennial apnea and shortness of breath and, needless to say, unhealthy. THELearning to breathe deeply is important, because it brings us back to the calm of our body, in the here and now and in the situations with a high rate of stress or even burnout, it can become a self-help practice, a fluid place in which to find comfort at any time of the day. Breathing correctly is not an art to be learned, but a modality that our body knows perfectly well, but which over time has deteriorated due to a too pressing lifestyle. The calm and deep breathing reconnects us to our depth and our emotional states, forces us to look inside, an experience not considered necessary or pleasant for everyone, because we may not like what we might discover by letting the air into the depths. So let’s keep our breaths high, that of stress, of breathlessness, not to see, not to hear. In the long run, however, we lose contact with ourselves and our lives, risking becoming automatons.

And it is a shame, because breathing deeply is a very powerful resource within everyone’s reach to fight stress, give yourself courage and live your life fully.
We talked about the potential of a full breath with il freediving champion Mike Maric, author of the essay la Breath science published by Vallardi, Team member of MP Michael Phelps and consultant of Federica Pellegrini, Gregorio Paltrinieri, Giacomo Carini and many other sportsmen, in episode no. 19 of the podcast Call the Coach !, The Stress Relief Power of Breath. Have a good listening!
