Podemos is planning a joint descent into the Spanish elections with the Labor Minister’s party

Parliamentary elections will be held next month elections in Spain and the left party Podemos plans to go down with the labor minister’s faction Yolanda Diath.

Characteristically, the general secretary of Podemos Ione Bellara he stated that “we will participate in the parliamentary elections together with Sumar, the decision has been made”.

Bellara added however, that the two parties will still have to settle some disagreementsespecially her Sumar’s opposition to the candidacy of the current Minister of Equality, Irene Montero.

Belara said Podemos would not accept a possible veto against “a comrade who pushed the feminist transformation further than anyone else before”, adding that her party would still wait before signing the documents, which would have to be submitted before the midnight tonight.

Montero was heavily criticized for a law that included a “loophole” that allows rapists to receive lighter sentences.

“We hope we won’t have to wait until the last minute to register the coalition,” Belara said. “The agreement can be reached in a very short time if there is the will on the part of Yolanda.”

It is noted that the Podemos, the Socialist Party’s junior partner in the ruling coalition, lost ground in the local and regional elections held on 28 May. If Podemos and Sumar were to go down separately, polls show the vote would be split and each would end up with fewer seats.
