At the time, police also considered the crime of homicide tempted against Zeli dos Anjos, Deise’s mother -in -law, and Matheus, a 10 -year -old who survived.
It was from this case that the gaucho police began to investigate Deise Moura dos Anjos. With the progress of the work, the exhumation of the suspicious father -in -law, Paulo Luiz dos Anjos, was requested in January 2025.
The man had died in September 2024 for supposed food poisoning. After exumed the body, the police concluded that there was arsenic presence in the victim, triggering a second inquiry.
Even with the death of the main suspicion of the case, the police will follow the work to “clarify all the elements and details that involve this fact.” In total, inquiries investigate four consummate homicides and two attempted murder. According to the delegate, the reports have more than a thousand pages.
“Despite the pointing to her, the imputation of the practices of criminal conduct, the indictment does not occur due to the extinction of punishment for the death of the agent,” said the delegate Sodré.
