In testimony to the Rio Grande do Sul Civil Police, obtained by CNN Zeli dos Anjos, mother -in -law of Deise Moura dos Anjos, accused of poisoning the flour of a kings cake that caused three deaths in Torres (RS), told the step by step of the incident.
Police said Deise put Arsenius in the flour used by Zeli. The mother -in -law explained in the statement that she decided to make the cake on December 23rd .

Zeli said she didn’t remember if anyone had encouraged her to make the cake.
According to the mother -in -law, She woke up on the 23rd and went to the market to buy ingredients that : brown sugar, margarine, condensed milk, eggs and white raisins.
Of the ingredients I had at home, Zeli stated in the statement that “he used the flour that was under the sink, black pass and candied fruits.” The mother -in -law also stated that she “forgot to put yeast on the cake.”
The icing of the cake “was made with the sugar it had at home.” During the preparation, she stated that “she did not try the cake pasta, nor did she feel different odor.

Tatiana, niece, was one of the fatal victims of poisoning, alongside Maida and Neuza, another sister of Zeli.

Also in testimony, Diego, son of Zeli, revealed a fight with Deise a month before the incident, where the mother -in -law would spend Christmas. “Deise wanted Zeli to spend Christmas with them (she, husband and son), and the mother -in -law wanted to spend the date with her sisters,” says in the statement.
Police also found that before the cake, Deise killed her father -in -law, Paulo Luiz dos Anjos, also with Arsenic, but placed in milk powder.
The accused was arrested on January 5.
“Deise remains collected with temporary arrest, the investigation follows, and according to court decision, there is still steps to be carried out for the elucidation of the facts in the investigation,” said the defense.
