Poland: Protest for peace in Ukraine

Hundreds of people gathered in Warsaw today for a pro-peace demonstration in Ukraine, protesting against a “new possible attack” by Russia.

The demonstrators held flags of Ukraine, Poland and the EU, as well as emblems of the Belarusian opposition. “We are with Ukraine” read one banner and “Do not touch Ukraine” another while the crowd rhythmically shouted “Putin in court!”.

The organizers said they wanted to “express their opposition to a possible new Russian attack on Ukraine.”

The West accuses Russian President Vladimir Putin of gathering 150,000 troops on the Ukrainian border and plotting an invasion. Moscow, for its part, denies this and accuses Ukraine of violating international agreements.
