Poland: Will build a 2.5 meter fence on the border with Belarus

THE Poland announced today that it will erect one fence, 2.5 meters high, on its border with Belarus while it will also strengthen its military patrols on the border, to prevent migrants from entering its territory.

Warsaw and the three Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) complain that they are receiving a “hybrid attack” organized by Belarus which, they claim, encourages immigrants to cross illegally into the territory of the European Union, transmits the RES EIA.

The Minister of Defense Marius Blazac He clarified on Monday that a new double-barbed wire fence, similar to the one erected on the border between Serbia and Hungary, would be added to the existing one, which stretches for about 130km. “The works will start next week,” the minister told reporters.

Blazac added that he would double, reaching them 2.000, the number of soldiers who will assist the border police in their work. “We will oppose the birth of a new route for the movement of migrants through Polish territory,” he said.

Earlier today the four countries called him UN to take action against Belarus. In their joint statement, the Prime Ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland argued that the influx of migrants “designed systematically from his status Alexander Lukashenko».

In recent months, thousands of migrants, mostly from Middle Eastern countries, have crossed the border into Belarus European territory, which the EU considers to be a form of retaliation against the Lukashenko regime, in response to the sanctions imposed on him by Brussels.
