In a joint operation, the Military Police and the Highway Police arrested the driver of the truck that collided with a minibus in Cascavel, Paraná, this Friday (2). After assuming involvement in the accident, the man was driven along with the truck to the Civil Police Station of Marechal Cândido Rondon.
According to police information, the vehicle was transporting 19 passengers from the municipality of Pato Bragado to the municipality of Cascavel. The collision left seven dead, including the bus driver.
After the crash, the truck driver fled the scene. When security agents arrived at the highway, they found a large amount of fallen corn kernels.
To locate the suspect, the police listened to an employee of a cooperative in the municipality of Santa Helena who reported that “a truck driver with a load of corn arrived at the scale very nervous and in a hurry to unload. After weighing the load, about 1500 kg of corn was missing”.
With the complaint, the vehicle and driver data were passed on to security agencies, which were able to locate them.
After crashing into the side of the truck, the bus still left the lane and hit a tree.
