Police arrest drug dealers who tortured users who did not pay drug debts

The Mato Grosso Civil Police carried out, this Tuesday (3), an operation to dismantle a network of drug dealers who tortured drug users who were unable to pay their debts. The action took place in the municipality of Alto Taquari, which is around 500 km from Cuiabá.

During the operation, search and seizure warrants were executed at addresses controlled by criminals for the sale of drugs. A 21-year-old man was arrested red handed.

The agents seized 105 portions of drugs, including cocaine and base paste, in addition to R$2,600 in change, ammunition, several bank cards with different names and other objects used in the criminal scheme.

According to the police, the investigations began after reports of torture ordered by the faction against users who were unable to pay their debts and people who violated the rules imposed by the group.

One of the cases happened in October this year, when a teenager was held in private prison and attacked by two men due to a drug debt. The victim managed to escape and called the Military Police.

One of the attackers was arrested in the act at the time, but investigations identified the mastermind of the crime, responsible for coordinating drug sales points.

Based on the evidence collected, the Court authorized search and seizure warrants in four locations used for trafficking. After the investigation, the arrested man was taken to the police station, where he was charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession of ammunition.

Investigations continue to identify other members of the faction involved in cases of torture in Alto Taquari and the region.
