Police arrest gunman in Memphis, but keep alert for population not to leave

Memphis police on Wednesday pursued a suspect in several shootings, including at least one that was posted on Facebook, and warned people to stay indoors until he is arrested. there is not yet reports of no deaths or injuries.

“Suspect is in custody. Please continue to follow our social media,” police said on Twitter, which included a photo of the 19-year-old suspect identified as Ezekiel Kelly.

The first alert alerted to an armed and dangerous man who was responsible for several shootings.

“We are receiving reports that he is recording his actions on Facebook,” police said.

A brief video posted to Facebook showed a man questioning “is this real” and using coarse language as he opened the door of a retail store and shot twice at the first person who appeared. Reuters could not verify the authenticity of the video.

KAIT TV reported that the suspect had fled across the Tennessee state border into Arkansas. The suspect may have switched vehicles, as police said he was in a light blue car with a broken rear window, but later said he was in a gray Toyota SUV.
