Last Tuesday (7), the Civil Police arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of raping a 13-year-old teenager, who was part of his own family, in the rural area of Rio Sono, a municipality located about 173 kilometers from Palmas.
According to delegate Túlio Pereira Motta, the investigations were initiated based on information recorded by a representative of a child protection agency who assisted the victim in the school environment.
At the time, the teenager revealed that she was a victim of sexual violence in the house where she lived and that the perpetrator was a member of her own family. The degree of kinship was not reported.
An examination confirmed violence and resulted in the arrest of the suspect.
The man was taken to the Palmas Regional Penal Unit, where he remains at the disposal of the Court.
