The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested, this Friday (1st), the suspect of having helped his nephew kill his ex-boyfriend and employee of the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-RJ), Sérgio Ricardo Leite de Souza, aged 61, in August.
According to investigations, Rodnei de Freitas and his nephew Rodrigo Rodrigues de Freitas, who was already in prison, had extorted and kept the victim in private prison.
According to the police, Rodrigo and Sérgio had a relationship for around two years. During the period, the victim paid a kind of allowance of R$5,000.00 per month to Rodrigo.
After the relationship ended and payments were interrupted, Rodrigo and his uncle lured the victim to a property in Penha, North Zone of Rio, where the crimes occurred. Sérgio even made several bank transfers totaling almost R$30,000.00, in addition to a loan worth R$90,000.00.
The server’s body was found charred in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense.
Rodnei will be held responsible for the crimes of major extortion, the recruitment of people and the death and concealment of a corpse.
The delegate responsible for the investigations, Mauro César, also believes that other people participated in the crimes, which is why investigations continue to locate and arrest more suspects.
