Police arrest seven people in operation against criminal faction in RN

The Civil Police arrested seven people in an operation to dismantle the main leaders of a criminal faction responsible for homicides, drug trafficking, money laundering and threats in cities in Rio Grande do Norte, last Tuesday morning (14).

Operation “Estação Final” carried out 38 court warrants, nine for arrests and 29 for search and seizure in the cities of Natal, Parnamirim, São Gonçalo do Amarante, Ceará-Mirim, Pureza and Currais Novos, in addition to the municipality of Luziânia, in the state from Goiás.

According to the police, the main target of the operation was the strategic core of the criminal organization, which resulted in the seizure of four firearms, ammunition, drugs, fractional money, drug trafficking paraphernalia, vehicles, credit cards, valuables and cell phones that will assist in investigations against the faction.

According to the investigations, the prisoners, members of the organization’s top leadership and occupants of essential functions, such as council, transparency, cash, general deadline and front, were responsible for ordering “general rescue”, promoting “crime courts” and coordinating serious crimes, such as homicides and drug trafficking in the state.

The operation was based on information from the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime in Mossoró and Natal, in addition to data provided by the Specialized Theft and Robbery Police Station in Natal. The action also included the Goiás Civil Police, the Penitentiary Administration Secretariat and the National Network of Units Specialized in Combating Criminal Organizations.

The prisoners were sent to the prison system and are available to the courts.
