A 29-year-old man, suspected of killing engineer Eliane Toniolo Panicacci, was arrested in the Cambuci neighborhood, central region of the capital of São Paulo, on the night of last Monday (23). The crime took place in the early hours of September 18.
The name of the prisoner was not released.
According to the Public Security Department, the suspect was located in an apartment by agents of the 27th DP (Campo Belo), where the case was registered and is being investigated. He was temporarily arrested.
Remember the case
Engineer Eliane Toniolo Panicacci was found dead by the police inside her home, on Alameda dos Jurupis, in Moema, south of the capital. She was found by the police next to an old revolver.
The victim’s 28-year-old daughter reported to the police that she and her mother, who slept in the same room, had heard the family dog barking “abnormally.” After that, they heard noises in the house and realized that there was a man in the residence.
The police report indicates that the gun that was next to Eliane’s body had been discovered by the two the day before the incident. The revolver was in the victim’s father’s safe.
The case was registered as robbery, which is theft or attempted robbery followed by death.
