Agents from the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station (DHBF) arrested this Thursday (21) a man suspected of robbing and killing an app driver. The criminal was located in Mangaratiba, on the Costa Verde of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the police, the victim, Criciune Freires de Barros, disappeared on November 8, after accepting a race from Vila de Cava, in Nova Iguaçu, to Seropédica, in Baixada Fluminense. The body was found on the 12th in a lake in Seropédica. The vehicle was located on an avenue on the same day.
After the investigation began, the police station identified the man who requested the trip and then analyzed the security camera images and verified that four suspects were involved in the action.
Two of the men who abandoned the vehicle were located, taken to the police station and confessed to participating in the robbery, including the death of the victim and stealing the car. The Civil Police reported that they requested an arrest warrant for the other suspect, who is on the run.
