The Civil Police arrested one of the suspects of shooting a São Paulo military police officer and his brother, who mistakenly entered the Complexo de Israel, in the North zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday morning (12).
The two men were targeted by criminals after accessing Estrada de Porto Velho, one of the entrances to the community. The two were shot in the legs and were rescued by RJ military police.
The suspect, whose identity was not revealed, was also injured in the confrontation with the victims and sought treatment at a health unit in the region.
After investigations, the police located the shooter inside the hospital, who was identified by one of those shot, and arrested him.
Last week, three criminal police officers from Minas Gerais were shot after mistakenly entering the Cidade Alta community.
The agents were escorting prisoners who were being transferred to the Benfica penitentiary.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP) informed the CNN which follows the investigation of the criminal group that shot the São Paulo PM.
The case remains under investigation at the 38th DP (Brás de Pina) in Rio de Janeiro.
