Military police officers from the 23rd Battalion (Leblon) arrested a teenager, accused of being part of a group that invaded a residence located in the Lagoa neighborhood, holding a family hostage in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, last Tuesday (5). The other members of the group managed to escape before the military police arrived.
In the action, the agents carried out a tactical siege to arrest the suspects and managed to identify the minor, identified as a member of the group that invaded the property, trying to escape through the streets of the Lagoa neighborhood.
Before being captured, the young man broke into a second residence, close to Parque Lage. Vehicles were deployed to support the chase, which ended with the arrest of the minor trying to enter General Fragoso Street.
According to the Military Police, the young man had a cell phone and R$77 in cash seized. He was taken to Leblon’s 14th DP, where authorities identified that he had already been detained 15 times and had another 23 arrests with the Police. The minor was taken to the Child and Adolescent Protection Police Station, where he remains in custody.
