The São Paulo Civil Police arrested three suspected of being involved in the death of Vinícius Gritzbach whistleblower of the First Command of the Capital (PCC).
The arrests took place after anonymous reports that a property in the region was used to store weapons and ammunition linked to organized crime. The three were arrested in the east zone of the capital of São Paulo, in Guaianazes, between this Friday (6) and Saturday (7).
The detainees are the brothers Marcos Henrique Soares Brito 22 years old, and Matheus Soares Brito 19, as well as their uncle, Alan Pereira Soares . During police actions since this Friday (6), seven people were arrested, but only three remained in detention.
The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP) confirmed the arrests. Matheus was the target of the Civil Police, while Alan and Marcos were arrested in the act by teams from the Tobias de Aguiar Ostensive Rounds (Rota).

According to the investigation, the arrests seek to ensure the progress of the investigation and enable the collection of new evidence. The Civil Police believe that five people directly participated in Gritzbach’s murder: two shooters, a driver, a scout at the airport and another suspect responsible for the escape.
There is still evidence that a sixth person possibly on the same flight as the victim, is involved.
The brothers’ lawyer, Eduardo Kuntz, challenges the legality of arrests . “There was no outstanding arrest warrant against them. The detention was arbitrary and absurd. We will appeal the decision and seek freedom for my clients,” he declared.
The Civil Police continues to analyze the possible connection of the detainees with the crime and does not rule out the participation of other stakeholders . Investigations continue with a focus on dismantling the PCC’s schemes and clarifying the execution of the whistleblower.
