Police arrest two suspects for stealing 75 kilos of explosives in PR

The Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) and the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR) preventively arrested, on the morning of this Wednesday (10), two men, aged 23 and 29, for the theft of 75 kilos of explosives from a manufacturing company of these artifacts.

The crime occurred on December 30, 2023, in the city of Quatro Barras (PR), metropolitan region of Curitiba. At the time, the two suspects and a teenager broke into the place and stole three boxes of dynamite and a box of fuses. They are manufactured for the purpose of blasting large rocks.

The arrests were the result of Operation Olimpo, which occurred jointly between the PCPR, the PMPR and the Public Ministry of Paraná (MPPR), and also resulted in five search and seizure warrants at addresses linked to the suspects, where nine electronic devices were found. cell phone and several pieces of clothing used in the crime.

The material was taken to the Quatro Barras Public Prosecutor's Office for examination and analysis, while the prisoners were taken to the Municipal Police Station and will be investigated for the crime of theft and for involving a teenager in its commission, which is a crime provided for in the Child Statute. and Adolescent (ECA).

The action was carried out with the presence of the Intelligence Team of the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE), and involved 36 military police officers and 4 civil police officers.

From now on, investigations will continue in secrecy and will also cover the conditions under which the death of a possible mastermind behind the theft of explosives occurred, two months after the crime.
