Ceará Military Police sub-lieutenant Francisco Ricardo Silveira Neto, aged 51, was murdered while on his way to his work station. The case occurred this Wednesday morning in Fortaleza (CE).
There is still no information about the circumstances of the crime, which is being investigated by the Civil Police.
The warrant officer joined the corporation in September 1994 and was currently assigned to the Tourist Policing Battalion.
In a statement, the Association of Security Professionals (APS) regretted what happened. “Sublieutenant Ricardo was cruelly attacked by armed criminals, losing his life in a cowardly way,” says the entity.
“We live in dark times, marked by the strengthening of organized crime, which takes innocent lives and attacks without any fear those who have sworn to protect and serve society. The loss of a police officer is an open wound in public safety and in the heart of Ceará society, leaving a void that will never be filled.”
The association also said that “Sublieutenant Ricardo dedicated his life to the mission of protecting Ceará society, and his absence will be deeply felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing the soldier.”
