The Civil Police of Pernambuco launched, on the morning of this Friday (25), Operation “Half Pass”, aimed at dismantling a criminal organization involved in the falsification of student IDs.
According to the police, the scheme generates more than R$4 million per year in Pernambuco alone. The criminal organization is also suspected of operating a fake “half-price” website.
The operation is the result of investigations that began in September, following an arrest in the act in Camaragibe, in the Metropolitan Region of Recife.
This Friday, agents carried out 11 search and seizure warrants issued by the 14th Criminal Court of the Capital. Around 50 civil police officers, including delegates, agents and clerks, participate in the actions, which take place in several cities in Pernambuco, including Recife, Olinda and Gravatá.
After the action, according to the Civil Police, investigations will continue ongoing.
