A joint operation between the Civil Police and the Military Police dismantled a gang specializing in major crimes such as bank robberies and attacks on armored vehicles. The police action took place this Friday morning (17) at a farm in the Ponta Grossa region, located 114 kilometers from Curitiba.
According to the police, the suspects were approached while preparing to carry out a high-impact robbery, like the new cangaço or attack on an armored car. There, there was a confrontation that lasted around eight minutes, and resulted in the death of six criminals. No police officers were injured.
The investigations began after the intelligence areas of the Civil Military Police of Paraná identified, in December last year, that a criminal group was organizing a violent robbery of large proportions in the state.
The action resulted in the seizure of 7 rifles of calibers 5.56 and 7.62, 1 50 machine gun, 1 45 pistol, various ammunition, 36 rifle magazines, ballistic vests and plates, explosives, vehicle license plates, in addition to an armored and cloned vehicle. Look:
