The Federal Police (PF) served 40 search and seizure warrants, 17 pre -trial arrest warrants, 6 temporary arrest warrants and 54 warrants of assets and values of the investigated. The operation was launched on the morning of Wednesday (21).
The action was carried out in the municipalities of São José do Rio Preto (SP), Mirassol (SP), Tanabi (SP), Ipiguá (SP) and Pontes and Lacerda (MT). Called “Operation Atelís”, the initiative aims to dismantle a criminal organization involved with drug trafficking and money laundering.
The teams had 200 federal police officers, 100 military police in addition to members of the Special Action Groups to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco).
According to investigations, the police identified a structured criminal organization. The group was acting on drug trafficking, using narcotics concealment with meat loads in refrigerated trucks.
Also according to the findings, in the last four years, the organization would have moved approximately R $ 400 million. In addition, during the investigation period, the PF carried out actions that resulted in the seizure of 2,183 kg of cocaine, 508 kg of marijuana, two firearms and the arrest of 10 people.
This phase aims to arrest the leaders of the criminal group, as well as the members. Investigated can be responsible for drug trafficking crimes, money laundering and criminal organization.
