The São Paulo Civil Police seized more than one ton of marijuana during an operation against drug trafficking in the east of São Paulo, on Wednesday (19).
The excess of the drug was located in two houses in the neighborhood of Itaquera. Police officers from the Santo André Narcotics Investigation Police Station (Dise) made the act.
The agents identified that the places were the “nuclei” they provided, stored and distributed the narcotics across the region. Cocaine bricks were also collected in the action.
Investigations began in February this year, when the teams found another property used to store illicit substances in Sapopemba, in the east of the state capital.
At the scene, notes were found about trafficking that pointed to other addresses used by traffickers. This Wednesday, the agents took to the streets to fulfill both the search and seizure warrants issued by the court.
In the first property, the police were attended by a family that rented the home to a person. During investigation, no drugs were found until the agents smelled the marijuana coming from an old vehicle in the garage.
In the vehicle, 920 marijuana bricks were found, which totaled over 570 kg, plus about 5,000 cocaine paper, weighing over 5 kg. At the other uninhabited address, another 519 kilos of marijuana were located, which were divided into 795 bricks, as well as a machine used to pack the substances, two precision scales and five old cars.
The items were seized and sent to the expert. The case was registered as location and seizure of object, compliance with a search warrant and seizure and drug trafficking at the Dise de Santo André. The Civil Police follows investigations to identify and arrest those responsible for the narcotics.
